I get a data file error every time I open Outlook. The exact error message I see is "A data file did not close properly the last time it was used and is being checked for problems. Performance might be affected while the check is in progress. Peoperly have Outlook SP1. I don't upgrade to SP2 offide my rule to reply using a template would not work it's a bug in SP2. So I uninstalled kb I know microsfot kb fix many bugs. Is there a smaller hotfix that could fix my data file problem without affecting my rule?

I went to control panel - mail applet and found the data file location. I actually created a new data file, made that default and restarted my computer and then outlook and initially it gave the message then opened up and started downloading emails then it froze. I shut down and restarted again and opened outlook and the "file did not close properly the file is being checked for problems" came up again.
